Partner network: Customised project solutions and product innovations from Asia
In addition to trading in high-quality battery cells, Omnitron acts as a one-stop shop, designing and manufacturing battery pack solutions and battery systems for mobile power supply. To this end, Omnitron draws on its own production lines in Germany and Bulgaria as well as an established partner network in Asia. The cooperation with partners from Japan, Malaysia, South Korea and parts of China complements and expands the European battery pack manufacturing processes and lines with capacity in the Far East. The network combines the production of cells, protection electronics, battery management systems and enclosures with the assembly of these components into soft-pack or hard-shell systems. Even more: local partners coordinate the implementation of customer-specific projects for Omnitron on site and ensure quality in the respective production.
Forty Years: A Dynamic Network in the Far East
The company’s founder, Reinhardt Griese, laid the foundations for these Asian contacts right at the start of his career. Today, Omnitron operates within a stable network in the Far East that has grown over the course of some four decades. “We are continuously expanding our infrastructure of strategic suppliers and partners in Asia,” says Omnitron CEO Adrian Griese. “These long-standing and well-maintained relationships enable us to serve our customers holistically with both simple and complex solutions.” In line with market developments, new suppliers offering modern technologies regularly join the ranks alongside traditional partners.
New Products and Technologies from the Asian Market
In April, COO Dr Frank Diehl, Head of Purchasing Sebastian Hoffmann and Head of Sales Assen Radkovski returned to their offices in Hesse following a tour of Asia, bringing back new insights, partners, products and opportunities. “We are qualifying manufacturers on the ground for our expansion in Asia,” says Sebastian Hoffmann. “The new distribution agreements enable us to include exciting cell technologies in our sales portfolio alongside customer-specific project solutions.” This year, the Omnitron team has established qualified partnerships in the fields of battery management systems, injection moulding, chargers and circuit boards, and successfully integrated them into the development of battery packs. Furthermore, additional suppliers of new cell technologies such as sodium-ion, LTO and the innovative “tabless contacting” process have been added to the Omnitron cell portfolio.
